2024 Comprehensive Plan Update

The City of Berkeley Lake has completed the 2024 comprehensive plan update. Following a public hearing held on November 16, 2023, the city transmitted the plan to the Atlanta Regional Commission for review. The Mayor and City Council adopted the plan following approval by the Atlanta Regional Commission and Department of Community Affairs. Here's some background on the project. 

• The City of Berkeley Lake initiated the 2024 Comprehensive Plan update at a public hearing on May 18, 2023 with a presentation from the Atlanta Regional Commission to kick off the process.
• The first steering committee meeting was held May 31, 2023. At that meeting, steering committee members worked with the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) to develop the public input survey. Public input is crucial to development of a plan representative of the community's vision. The survey closed on August 31, 2023.
• A public meeting/open house was held on August 26, 2023 at City Hall to garner public comments to be incorporated into the development of the plan.
• The second steering committee meeting was held September 5, 2023. At that meeting, steering committee members reviewed the results of the public input survey and the feedback from the open house held on August 26, 2023. In addition, the committee discussed goals for the 2024 Comprehensive Plan.
